Privacy notice
The short version: I collect only what you type into the enquiry form, I use it only to reply to you, and I don't share it with anyone. Here's the longer version, in plain English.
Who I am
Vintage Toy Dealer is the trading name of Richard Sykes, a sole trader based in Bingley, West Yorkshire. For anything to do with your personal information, contact me at mail@vintagetoydealer.co.uk.
What I collect, and why
When you send the enquiry form, I receive your name, your email address, your description of the toys, and any photos you attach. That's everything. I use it for one purpose: to look at what you've got and reply, with an offer or an honest no, and, if you accept, to arrange the sale and pay you.
The lawful basis for this, in UK GDPR terms, is that you've asked me to take steps before entering into a contract (and it's plainly in both our legitimate interests for me to answer your enquiry).
Where it goes and how long I keep it
Your enquiry arrives as an email to my mailbox, which is hosted in the UK by my hosting provider. It isn't copied into marketing databases or mailing lists, because I don't have any. I keep enquiries only as long as needed to deal with them. Once an enquiry is closed and any sale is settled, it gets deleted in my periodic clear-outs, apart from the basic records of completed purchases that tax rules require me to keep.
What I never do
- No cookies: this site doesn't set any, which is why there's no cookie banner
- No analytics or tracking scripts of any kind
- No sharing, selling or renting your details to anyone
- No marketing emails: you'll only ever hear from me about your own enquiry
Your rights
You can ask me at any time what information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Just email mail@vintagetoydealer.co.uk and I'll sort it, usually the same day. If you're ever unhappy with how I've handled your information, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
